Motto for 2006:

“And when you turn to the right or to the left, your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying “ This is the way, walk in it.”   Isaiah 30: 21

March, 2006.

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

In our faith, the glory of Christmas precedes the joy of Easter.  Lent is the period during which our Lord and savior Jesus Christ was in wilderness, being tempted by Satan. There was no food and water in the wilderness, but angels watched over the son of God.

Lent signifies a new beginning. It reminds that a goal to be accomplished. A goal to be a better person. Lenten disciplines are good to observe. It is good to discipline our minds and bodies, to study and serve. But it is also good to build up our capacity for joy.

Human beings made in God’s image, are designed for relational living. A monk I know speaks of the covenanted relationship among those in monastic communities: they too, leave their parents to join a new family. Whatever the nature of our communities or commitments, however, scripture makes clear that we are called to be faithful.

“Remember that you are dust and to dust you shall return”.

The reality, of course, is that we are all marked by mortality. Sooner or later, each of us will die. Our mortal flesh returns to dust, but that is not the end. God’s promise is forever and God’s promise holds.

Therefore transformation should start from us.  What is required from us is self-realization and humility of heart to allow God to perform miracle in our own lives.

Thus you become the children of light. Walk through the light and truth, keeping the Holy Mountain as the goal and dwell with God experiencing the fullness of life.

May God bless us all.

With love and Prayers
